The Brunswick County Board of Education and Brunswick Community College encourage young people to complete
high school before seeking admission to BCC. High school students meeting the following criteria may be admitted to
BCC courses:
1. The student must be at least 16 years of age, and enrollment action must be initiated by the public school in which the student is enrolled;
2. The individual student's program must be approved by the principal of the high school and the Admissions Office of Brunswick Community College;
3. The student must be taking at least three non-block schedule or two block schedule courses at his/her high school and must be making satisfactory progress toward graduation as determined by his/her high school principal;
4. A student who wishes to enroll in College Transfer courses must meet course prerequisites by making appropriate scores on the ACT ASSET Assessment Inventory offered at Brunswick Community College. In some cases SAT Verbal and Math test scores may be substituted for ACT ASSET scores. Admission to math and science courses requires an appropriate score on the ACT ASSET Algebra inventory.
