25 th ANNIVERSARY PRACTICAL NURSING STUDENTS EARN PERFECT SCORE

Supply, NC - Brunswick Community College celebrated 25 years of Practical Nursing graduates this past May. Those graduates were well prepared to sit for the state licensure exam. Now, just two months later, BCC is proud to announce all seventeen PN graduates have passed their exams. This is the first perfect pass rate for BCC PN graduates since 2004.

BCC Practical Nursing faculty credit the hard work of the students as well as a strengthened curriculum for the perfect pass rate. The College administration and faculty worked very closely with the Board of Nursing to create an interactive program aimed at helping students succeed. Tanya Mace, Director of Practical Nursing, also credits the faculty. "I think the faculty has a lot to do with it. Those at the helm have the experience and knowledge to help the students succeed," says Mace. She says the instructors also have compassion for their students who often work and raise their families while pursuing their nursing careers.

As new Practical Nursing students enter the classroom for the fall semester, Mace says they will need to take their classes seriously and adapt their lifestyles to this intense period of education. She says this milestone won't slow their efforts to help students; instead there will be even more effort dedicated to student success this semester.
