Southport Women's Club Helps BCC Nursing Students
Supply, NC - The Southport Woman's Club recently presented a check for $1,000 to the Brunswick Community College Foundation. The contribution is given each semester and funds the Southport Woman's Club Scholarship for nursing students at BCC. The Woman's Club holds a series of fundraisers to make the donations possible. Sue Gotwalt, President of the Southport Woman's Club, says their mission is to be active participants in the community through volunteering, educating, and fundraising for charitable organizations. "The money will help students trying to better themselves by pursuing a career in nursing at BCC," says Gotwalt. To qualify for the scholarship, students must demonstrate financial need and live in Brunswick County.
