BCC DISNEY INSTITUTE BRINGS INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOPS TO BRUNSWICK COUNTY

Supply, NC – The Disney Institute presented, “The Disney Keys to Excellence” to a sold-out group of 274 business owners, non-profit organizations and health care professionals in Brunswick County. The event was presented by Brunswick Community College (BCC) and sponsored by University of North Carolina Wilmington, Brunswick County Economic Development Commission, and Cape Fear Workforce Development Board in collaboration with Brunswick Community College’s Small Business Center. Area business professionals were able to interact with Disney facilitators during four separate seminars encompassing leadership, management, service, and loyalty. Each topic focused on teaching the business behind the magic of Disney.

The event was designed as way to give back to businesses and industry in Brunswick County and did not create any income for BCC or the sponsors. Tom Hemphill is Director of the BCC Small Business Center. He says the event was a unique opportunity for the county. “The Disney Keys to Excellence was by far the best professional development program that I have ever attended. I want to thank our partners; UNCW, Cape Fear Workforce Development Board, and the Brunswick County Economic Development Commission, along with the folks at Brunswick Community College, who made this event possible in our county," says Hemphill.

The event sold out in just over one month of ticket sales. The Disney Keys to Excellence program is offered internationally with other recent presentations as far away as Lisbon, Spain and Kauala Lumpor, Malaysia.
