The Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) provides one-on-one tutoring for students needing extra assistance in enrolled classes. Assistance is also provided for students preparing to enter a chosen curriculum. The mission of the Academic Center is to provide assistance and encouragement to students for their educational advancement.
The Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) contains self-pace, programmed materials for students who, regardless of their educational level, wish to study independently.
Students are able to work individually to improve basic skills such as math, reading and English grammar. Tutors are available to assist students with their course work. The Academic Center is also able to provide help to students who wish to supplement their classroom work or are studying solely for self improvement. Tutoring is available for those students entering BCC who wish to prepare for or improve their scores on the Compass Tests. Professional personnel are available for testing, counseling and instruction. ACE services are available at no charge.
The Academic Center is located in A building, room 220, next to the Library. ACE hours are 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Thursday. Friday hours are 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Hours may vary by semester. The Academic Center is closed on all BCC holidays. The Center may also be closed when classes are not in session between Semesters or during Fall and/or Spring Breaks. You may call the ACE to check the schedule.
