The BioNetwork STEM bus is visiting Brunswick Community College on February 3, 2014 from 8:10am until 4:50 pm. The STEM Bus is a 40ft mobile learning lab staffed with trained scientists and educators. The interactive Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) activities on the bus engage visitors and inspire students to pursue STEM careers. The STEM Bus is full of equipment that highlights careers found across North Carolina. Industry equipment was purposefully placed on the bus to highlight specific careers areas. Ipads, a TV touchscreen, a solar panel readout and other highly technical items are available as well. This combination of hands-on, highly technical displays allows visitors to learn about specific careers by experiencing individual job tasks through short experiments or mini labs. Visitors can experience many careers in a short time. The purpose of the BioNetwork STEM bus is to show students the opportunities and the need of this type of workforce.
