Courses are designed to meet the needs of local EMS agencies, healthcare providers, and the public with emphasis on emergency patient care in traditional pre-hospital and nontraditional environments. Emergency Medical Science (EMT) courses are also designed to assist individuals desiring employment or retraining in health institutions or related fields.

- EMT Basic
- EMT Intermediate
- EMT Paramedic
- EMT Continuing Education
• EMT Basic Initial Class
This is the initial EMT class and prepares students to sit for the state EMT credential exam. Class starts on Feb 10 at 1800 at the Grissettown Fire Department.
• Flight Paramedic Prep/Refresher Course
March 9 and 10 0800-1830 each day at SBIC
This is an intense 20 hour in two days class that prepares student to sit for the FP-C certification. It also serves as board approved Con Ed for CCEMT-P certified personnel. Class is open to any currently certified Paramedic. All NC emergency service personnel are fee exempt and have no costs involved. • Emergency Vehicle Driver Class (FIP-3601 FF Certification class)
March 10 and March 11, 0800-1700 each day at the Leland Fire Department. Pre-registration is NOT required.
• CPR Instructor Class
This 8 hour class prepares students to be a certified CPR Instructor.
March 20 at 0800 at Ocean Isle Beach Fire Department.
• EMS 3074 – Education Methodology (Online)
This course is designed to prepare the student to teach adults and to understand the adult learner. Participants will learn how to prepare teaching outlines and organize practical skills. This course is required for certification as an NC Certified EMT Instructor. This is an 8 weeks course.
