Types of Massage Available (30, 60 or 90 minutes)
Swedish Massage relaxes the entire body by using light to firm pressure with a range of long, smooth strokes, and kneading and friction techniques on the more superficial layers of the muscles. Swedish massage is exceptional for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
Deep Tissue Massage focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue, releasing chronic patterns of tension in the body. Slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas can help reduce pain, increase range of motion, relieve muscle spasms and improve circulation.
Sports Massage can be characterized two ways: pre-activity and post-activity massage. Pre-activity uses dynamic stretching to allow the connective tissue to work through a full range of motion, thereby reducing possible injury. Post-activity massage focuses on recovering the muscle tissue that may have been impacted during the particular activity. It involves long strokes to flush out the toxins that cause soreness in the muscles and joints.
Hot Stone Massage therapy melts away tension, eases muscle stiffness, and increases circulation and metabolism. This session features the placement of smooth, heated stones at key points on the body to allow for deeper relaxation of the muscles. Hot Stone Therapy provides deeper muscle and tissue relaxation, which in turn releases more toxins and improves circulation. Hot Stone Therapy is a 90 minute session.
