They say attracting industry isn’t just about showcasing Southeastern North Carolina’s components – Wilmington and New Hanover, Pender and Brunswick counties. It’s about selling the region as a whole.
Many say that is especially true since the area lost out in its bids for Continental Tire and Caterpillar Inc. and the jobs that would have come with them.
Increased cooperation is what is going to help land the next deal, they say. Not everyone thinks the region and its economic developers are there yet.
