BCC Celebrates Manufacturing Day
On Friday, October 4th Brunswick Community College and Brunswick County Schools partnered together to showcase the diverse career opportunities available within our local manufacturing industry. The event brought forty-two high school students together for industry tours, trivia, prizes, and lunch. Our committee made every effort to address common misperceptions by giving local industry an opportunity to open their doors and show, in a coordinated effort, what manufacturing is — and what it isn’t. This event provided an opportunity for our team to address the skilled labor shortage, take charge of the public image of manufacturing, and ensure the ongoing prosperity of our region. We were thrilled to see representatives from Pender County Schools and NC State University at this year’s event. This event would not have been possible without strong industry support from Feller Power Cords, QRP, and HSM.
