BCC Names Garcia Student of the Month

When BCC Early College High School student, Vanessa Garcia was summoned to the President Gene Smith’s Boardroom, she wasn’t sure what to expect. She was greeted by a room full of staff, instructors, and school leadership, all there to celebrate her as Student of the Month. Nominated by Dan Stone, The Learning Center (TLC) Specialist and Veteran Mentor, Vanessa is surely deserving of this award. “Vanessa volunteered to tutor Spanish in the TLC on Mondays and Tuesdays this fall,” said Stone. “She also tutors at the Early College on Wednesdays and Fridays, filling a great need in service to her fellow students. She is incredibly kind and helpful and I’m pleased to see her named Student of the Month.” Congratulations, Vanessa! We are proud of thankful for you.
