BCC’s BIP Greenhouse Program in Full Bloom

Fall may be upon us, but BIP students and the flowers and plants they grow in the Brunswick Blooms greenhouse are blossoming thanks to the generosity of the Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation (BEMC). BEMC recently awarded BIP a $1,500 grant to create wheelchair-accessible garden beds and a unique, oversized umbrella to shade them.

A long-time favorite activity among students, working in the greenhouse has many benefits. It makes students happy supporting fall and spring plant sales and bringing home fresh vegetables they helped grow. Thanks to BEMC, more students than ever will benefit.

Here are a few photos of students receiving the new supplies, constructing the new beds, and putting the finished products to good use.
