Automotive Technology
This course provides foundational knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair leading to employment. Topics include tire repair, brake repair, engine maintenance, electrical systems, suspension, steering, alignment, transmission maintenance, manual drive train, and heating / air conditioning. Complete the course and be guaranteed an interview!
Initial Vehicle Escort Course
This course satisfies requirements set by North Carolina Department of Transportation for certification of oversize/overweight load escort vehicle drivers. Course components consist of defensive driving, escort driver requirements, updates, and an examination. Effective August 15, 2019, all initial applicants for the Escort Vehicle Operator Program will be required to submit documentation of completion of a defensive driving course that has been approved by the National Safety Council along with a copy of their State certified driving record and application to the NCODT Oversize/Overweight Permit Unit. Defensive Driving is included in the course.
Small Engine Repair
This introductory course will explore basic engine operation, ignition systems, fuel systems, compression systems, and small engine maintenance. Students will experience project based activities, teamwork, and various employer locations.

Vehicle OBD Inspection
This course is designed to meet training requirements (initial and /or renewal) for Auto Safety Inspection Program administered by NC Division of Motor Vehicles, License and Theft Bureau. Initial Safety class should be taken before OBD Course. Topics covered include overview of DMV regulations, inspection procedures, and proper use of diagnostic equipment.
