NC BACK-TO-WORK Grant awarded to Brunswick Community College

SUPPLY, NC.  Brunswick Community College has received funding for the NC Back-to-Work Grant for the second year in a row. Programs include career paths in Sustainable Industrial and Facilities Maintenance Technology, Green Construction Rehabilitation Specialists, Welding, HVAC, Biofuels, Electronic Medical Records and more. All program training will be short-term and lead to industry-recognized or state-regulated credentials.

The NC Back-to-Work program is supported by both NC Community Colleges and the NC Department of Commerce allowing Community Colleges to partner with employers, as well as workforce development boards and other local agencies to help match training with areas of workforce demand. This year eligibility has been expanded and funds from the grant may be used to provide financial assistance (tuition, books and credentialing fees) to the unemployed, underemployed (insufficient employment), veterans and members of the N.C. National Guard.

Brunswick Community College serves approximately 1,600 students from across the state of North Carolina and beyond.  Offering more than 35 degree programs and many continuing education opportunities, BCC’s mission is to provide opportunities for individuals to be successful through accessible, high quality programs and services that meet the educational, cultural and workforce development needs of the community.
