The Office of Academic Support serves to engage students through a series of programs and services specifically designed to help students overcome barriers. become motivated, and successful learners.  BCC’s Academic Success Coaches serve as a participant of the student’s success team, working to build trusting relationships and empower students to the develop the skills they need to succeed.  Our services include: first year experience, new student orientation, success coaching and advising, college readiness, mentoring, personal and career counseling, academic success, and study skills (courses and workshops), professional tutoring, reading and writing assistance, and general technology assistance. Academic Support is located in Building A, Room 125.

Individual career counseling is available to students who are interested in discussing career interests. Career assessment services can help students examine their interests, values, and skills as they explore career options. A Career Counselor can also help students choose their program of study, and assist students’ transition into the workforce or institutions of higher education. Visit Career Counselor, Tanya Hart M.Ed., LCAS, LCMHC, in Academic Support or call 910-755-7324.

You can also take a personalized career assessment and research career paths, BCC programs and degree plans, build a resume, and more using our BCC’s interactive Career Coach.
