Southport Center a Treasure Trove of Creativity

Southport Center project images

Did you know that quaint coastal Southport is home to a treasure trove of creativity, talent, and opportunity? You’ll find it all at BCC’s Southport Center for Heritage Arts located at 701 N. Lord St. With some of the area’s most talented artisans, Southport Center is the perfect place to awaken your creative spirit, hone your skills, or try something entirely new just for fun. That’s what student Van Snyder recently did when he took a Free Turning class and transformed ash into a baseball bat. Students like Van and instructors (award winning!) are outdoing themselves and having a blast along the way. Spring registration is underway so treat yourself to class, or give the gift of art to a friend or family member this holiday season.

Not sure where to start? CLICK HERE to see the complete lineup of classes in Fabric, Glass, Jewelry, Metal, Music, Painting, Pottery, Woodturning, Cultural Heritage, and Music. You can register online or with help from OneStop Student Services at onestop@brunswickcc.edu. Here’s a quick sampling of some recent masterpieces, including a look at that magnificent baseball bat!
