Stanley Brothers Make Slam Dunk with Community Fundraising Effort

Stanley Brothers present $55,000 check to BCC Foundation at Dolphins Basketball GameThe players weren’t the only ones making slam dunks at the Dolphins Basketball Game on February 1. At halftime, Moe and Joe Stanley delivered their version of a slam dunk by taking center court and presenting a check for $55,000 to BCC President Gene Smith, who accepted on behalf of the BCC Foundation. The donation will support the Men’s Basketball program.

The brothers and their two siblings were born and raised in Brunswick County and played basketball. Their love for sports and the community inspired them to lead a fundraising effort for Dolphins Basketball. They spent the month of December on the phone with friends, family, and fellow fans, asking for their support.

If you’ve met Moe and Joe, you know it’s nearly impossible to turn them down. They are kind, big-hearted, dedicated to family, and believe in the value of giving back. A similar effort last year yielded a $40,000 gift. Not surprisingly, they beat their record this year with even more.

Owners of Joe and Moe’s Automotive in Shallotte, the brothers began their careers in banking and education before opening their own business. You can find them on the sidelines or in the stands at nearly every Dolphins basketball game. We could not be more grateful to Joe, Moe, and their families for their love of the game and BCC.
