Medical Assisting – Associate Degree (A45400)
The Medical Assisting curriculum prepares multi-skilled health care professionals to perform clinical, laboratory, and administrative procedures.
Course work includes instruction in assisting with clinical examinations/treatments, performing routine laboratory procedures, electrocardiography, supervised medication administration, confidentially/HIPAA training and ethical/legal issues associated with patient care; administratively instruction includes training in scheduling appointments, coding, and processing insurance accounts, billing, collections, computer operations, and basic administrative office procedures.
Students complete the Diploma Curriculum (Fall Semester #1, Spring Semester #1, and Summer #1 semester), and then complete the following Semester #2 courses for the Associate Degree in Applied Science Medical Assisting Program:
