MUS 121 – Music Theory I

Prerequisites: None Corequisites: None

This course provides an in-depth introduction to melody, rhythm, and harmony. Emphasis is placed on fundamental melodic, rhythmic, and harmonic analysis, introduction to part writing, ear- training, and sight-singing. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate proficiency in the recognition and application of the above. This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA and ICAA as a pre-major and/or elective course requirement for the AA & AS degrees.
