I’m currently working as an RN at a level one trauma center in Norfolk Virginia. I’ve received two job offers from local colleges to be a clinical instructor for them once I obtain my bachelor’s degree in the next year. I feel like BCC was the first stepping stone in a long path for me. They were my foundation. Through BCC I was able to get the right connections and the right education to get me to where I needed to be. I was introduced to phenomenal clinical staff/extensions of BCC in the hospital who helped train me for the real world in the medical field. I was blessed to have such amazing teachers who truly cared about my well-being and success. The staff was always welcoming and I knew I always had someone to talk to if I needed it. I couldn’t have asked for a better start to my never-ending future than Brunswick Community College.
BCC gave me the chance to start over and get my life back on track and allow me to grow into the productive student I knew I could be. Thankfully, due to my hard work at BCC, I was able to attend UNCW with enough scholarships to cover my cost of attendance. If not for the growth and leadership opportunities during my time in Brunswick County, those goals would not have been accomplished. My goal now is to continue on the path I set out on when I started at BCC and utilize the ever-growing film industry within the Southeast region and use my hard work and creative mindset to create large-scale productions! With the opportunities I have received, both in my academic, and professional life, and everything I wish to achieve, I have BCC to thank!
