Dental Assisting

Earn Dental Assisting I certification in just 24 weeks

The population of Brunswick County is growing at warp speed, with an increase of 32 percent in the last decade alone. The result is an increased demand for quality dental care, which Brunswick Community College (BCC), in affiliation with East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine and other local dental offices, will help fulfill.

Designed to teach students the necessary skills to become a Dental Assistant I in the State of NC, the coursework includes instruction in general studies, biomedical sciences, dental sciences, clinical sciences, and clinical practice. A combination of lecture, laboratory, and clinical experiences provides students with knowledge in infection/hazard control, radiography, dental materials, preventive dentistry, and clinical procedures. Graduates will be eligible to sit for the National Entry Level Dental Assistant (NELDA) exam. Students will complete the practical training at local area dental offices and clinics.

Classes begin August 9 and held two days per week. Financial Aid/Scholarship assistance is available!
